A long long time ago a mighty god called Lạc Long Quân used to live in the mointains of Việtnam. He was the son of the mountain king Kinh Dương Vương, who ruled over the huge kingdom of Xích Quỷ. His country leaned its back on an endless mountain chain in the West and glanced from a broad coast to the deep blue ocean in the East. Lạc Long Quân resembled his mother, a water dragon with an incredible strength and intelligence. Lord Lạc had the unshakable body of a dragon and enjoyed an exceptionally good health. No illness came over him. The little Lord Lạc was fascinated by the ocean. There he learned how to play with the magical forces by frightening ocean creatures. Soon he grew up being a stately god and overtook his father's throne. He was a kind ruler, popular within the Việt people. The only thing he was longing for was a wife, with whom he could share everything.
One day a beautidul fairy from the far mountains visited the country of Lạc Việt. ... (more in the printed version)
